Dr. Prapat Wangskarn got his Chemical Engineering degree from Cleveland State University USA in 1988, M.Sc in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University USA in 1984 and B.Sc in Food Technology & Biotechnology from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.

He has visited a no. of universities & institutions in various countries and participated in establishing educational collaboration with them. He has also published a no. of research papers in international journals; his main area of interest is to work in the field of Fuel, Energy and Combustion.

Thami ZEGHLOUL was born on the 25th of December, 1962 in Casablanca in Morocco. He attended Primary and Secondary French schools in Morocco. He passed his Baccalauréat at Lycée Lyautey in Casablanca in 1981, Baccalauréat of the Académie of Bordeaux.

Thami ZEGHLOUL studied at the Fundamental and Applied Sciences College of the University of Poitiers – Faculté de Sciences Fondamentales et Appliquées de l’Université de Poitiers. He obtained a DEUG (Diplôme d’Etudes Universitaires Générales) – a diploma taken after two years at University -, a Licence – Bachelor’s degree – and a Maîtrise – Master in Technologie de Construction – in Building Technology – and a DEA (Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies) – a post graduate diploma taken before completing a PhD and a preparatory research qualification that precedes the doctorate in Mechanical Engineering in 1987. He completed his higher education with a Doctorat he obtained in 1991. The subject of his doctoral thesis was «Etude des phénomènes d’adhérence et de glissement entre solides : approche expérimentale et modélisation» – “Study of the stick-slip phenomenon between solids: experimental approach and modelling”.

In parallel to his higher education, Thami ZEGHLOUL started his professional experience in teaching in 1987 in secondary schools as a supply teacher – Maître Auxiliaire. Then, he taught mathematics and physics in classes from the fifth form to the Baccalauréat and in classes preparing for the Higher National Certificate – Technicien Supérieur. He was an Attaché Temporaire d’Enseignement et de Recherche – Temporary Teacher and Researcher at the IUT (Institut Universitaire de Technologie) – University Institute of Technology in Angoulême from 1991 to 1993. Thami ZEGHLOUL was recruited as a lecturer/associate professor – Maître de Conférences in September 1995 at the IUT of Angoulême where he has carried on his career until now.

His teaching activities are in the fields of mathematics, mechanics, strength of materials, structure calculations and computer science.

He carries out his research activities in the Institut Pprime/CNRS of the University of Poitiers. He works on dry contacts and lubrication problems. He takes part in doctoral supervision and he is the author of several international publications.

Thami ZEGHLOUL started to take administrative responsibilities as Head of the department Organisation et Gestion de la Production (OGP) – Production organization and management – from 2001 to 2004 and Head of the department Qualité, Logistique Industrielle et Organisation (QLIO) – Quality, Industrial Logistics & Organisation from 2004 to 2007.

Thami ZEGHLOUL was elected in 2007 Director of the IUT of Angoulême which offers education divided into five Higher National Degrees (DUT) and five Bachelor’s degrees (LP) and a first year of CNAM mechatronics Engineer. The IUT gathers more than 650 students, 54 teachers and researchers and 29 administrative and technical staff.

As the Director of the IUT, he stood up for the creation of the first expertise centre in Charente – « Espace de Formation à l’Eco-Conception » (EFEC) – an expertise centre dedicated to eco-design. The aim of this project is to favour the transfer of technologies to small and medium-sized businesses and industries as well as to train students and make them aware of sustainability problems and eco-design approach. He asked, convinced and obtained the co-financing of the project by the local authorities (Communauté des Agglomération du Grand Angoulême et Conseil Général). The total amount of the project is of 1.2 million Euros.

Since September 2010, he has been responsible and messenger for the project of the creation of a technological platform dedicated to images and sounds – Plate-Forme Technologique (PFT) Images et Sons in Angoulême. It is a matter of organizing in the area the help brought to companies in the fields of images and sounds. This platform will also have an educational training role for short courses. It will put know-how, expertise, and equipment in the field of images and sounds at the companies’ disposal. This project is supported by the local authorities.

Thami ZEGHLOUL has been an expert for the education authority for apprenticeship department – Expert du Service Académique d’Inspection de l’Apprentissage – since 2004.

Prof. Banmali S. Rawat was born in Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India. He received BSEE, MSEE degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology, (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi and Ph.D. (ECE) from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, India in 1968, 1970 and 1976, respectively.

He was recipient of National Merit Scholarship, UGC Fellowship, Atomic Energy Commission Fellowship, United Nations Fellowship and the University Gold Medal for first rank in MSEE. He was a faculty member with the MMM Engineering College, Gorakhpur and Instrumentation Engineer in the West Coast Paper Mills before starting his Ph.D. in 1972.

He joined the Defense R & D Organization (DRDO) as Senior Scientist in 1975 and worked on various research projects in microwave systems/circuits, microwave/millimeter wave integrated circuits for radar and communication systems. He became Associate Professor in 1978 and Professor/Head of the Electronics Engineering Department, Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, University of Gorakhpur, India in 1981. In 1981 he joined the Electrical Engineering Department, University of North Dakota, USA and was a Professor until 1988 before moving to the University of Nevada, Reno, USA, as Professor/Head-Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Department and is continuing as a Professor. During his long teaching career he has been very active in developing new courses, laboratories and programs in Electromagnetics, Microwave Engineering, Microwave Integrated Circuits, Optical Fiber Communications, Optical Networking, Optical Sensors and other related areas. He has been teaching various courses in these areas since 1978 and is continuously moving in the cutting edge technological areas. He has done extensive research in these areas with over 200 research publications in national/international reputed journals and reviewed conference proceedings. His recent research focus has been on microstrip couplers/filters on defective ground structures (DGS) using anisotropic substrates, optically controlled couplers, optical fiber sensors, DWDM technology with secured optical communication, recycling of light, collection of energy from atmosphere and THz band nanoantennas. He has presented keynote addresses and invited papers in many scientific conferences/ universities all over the world. He has been consultant to IBM, EF Johnson Co., UPS, Ikanos Communications, Hytek Microsystems etc. Besides these important positions, Dr. Rawat has been Visiting Professor in the Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic (2013 and 2014), External Examiner (Reviewer) for Monash University, Malaysia (2014-2016), Visiting Professor Kyushu University, Japan (2005), Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany (2002), University of New South Wales, Australia (2000-2001), Visiting Senior Scientist in the Advanced Telecommunication Research (ATR) Institute, Kyoto, Japan (2000), Visiting Professor in Ecole Nationale d’Ingenieurs de Brest, France (1998), JSPS Visiting Professor in the Kyushu University, Japan (1997-98) and NASA Summer Professor in the Kennedy Space Center, Florida in 1997 and 1999.

Dr. Rawat has been listed in “Who’s Who in Technology Today”, “The International Directory of Distinguished Leadership”, “Who’s Who in Electromagnetics”, Who’s Who in America”, “American Men and Women of Science”, “Who’s Who Among Asian Americans”, “Who’s Who in the World” and “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering”. He was invited by the United Nations as an International Expert in Microwaves and Optical Technology under TOKTEN and UNIDO programs in 1989, 1992 and 1994. He has Chaired/Organized many national/international symposia/conferences and has been the Keynote Speaker, Plenary Session Chair, Technical Program Chair and Editor of several Conference Proceedings. He is an Advisory Board Member and Chapter author for the “Electrical Engineering Handbook”, published by CRC Press/IEEE Press. He has been reviewer for IEEE, IEE, Intl. Journal of Electronics, Journal of Electromagnetic Waves & Applications and Indian Jr of Radio and Space Physics and book reviewer for John Wiley, McGraw-Hill, Prentice Hall and other publishers. Dr. Rawat has been Chair of IEEE Northern Nevada Section. He is the Founder/Chair of the “International Symposium on Microwave and Optical Technology (ISMOT)”, Founder/Chair of the IEEE MTTS/PS Chapter of Northern Nevada since 2000, Founder/Editor-in-Chief of the online “International Journal of Microwave and Optical Technology (IJMOT)” since 2005 and Founder/President of the International Academy of Microwave and Optical Technology (IAMOT) since 2012. Dr. Rawat was awarded the First Aditya Vikram Birla Chair-2013 of Aditya Birla Training & Research Center, Pilani, India for outstanding contribution in Academics and Research. He is the recipient of IEEE Region-6 Central Area “Outstanding Engineer of the Year Award – 2012” and IEEE Region-6 Central Area “Outstanding Leadership and Professional Service Award-2014”.

Dr. Rawat is a Fellow of IETE, Fellow of CIE, Fellow of the Electromagnetics Academy established at MIT, Fellow of JSPS, Fellow of Optical Society of India, Life Senior Member of IEEE, Member of Sigma Xi, North, Optical Society of America, SPIE, and Eta Kappa Nu – the EE Honor Society. Dr S Pal is an alumnus of Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India; formerly, Distinguished Scientist, Associate Director and also Program Director, Satellite Navigation Program at ISRO Satellite Centre; Prof Satish Dhawan Professor & Senior Advisor Satellite Navigation Programme (ISRO). He joined ISRO in 1971, after a brief tenure at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. Dr Pal pioneered the Microwave, Antenna RF communications activities at the ISRO Satellite Centre since the inception. Dr Pal is also responsible for pioneering satellite based navigation activities in India. He spearheaded the Indian Satellite Based Wide Area Augmentation System – GAGAN (GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation System) and Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) activities for aviation for civilian & restricted users. He is the originator of Indian Navigation Satellite Programme . These two programmes initiated by him at ISRO will have huge technological impact and benefit to a host of users in the Asia Pacific region. His knowledge in his various areas of expertise has been utilized, as consultant, by many national and international organizations, eg. (i) TNMARSAT/ICO (UK) for LEOSAT definitions, responsible for the development of Satellite Hand Held Telephone Antenna System for ICO (UK) (ii) International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for defining Regional African Satellite Communication System and (iii) Nan yang Technological University, Singapore, on X-Sat. He was also the Chairman of Information Infrastructure Working Group of Ministry of Information Technology. He had also carried out special antenna developments for DRDO, India.

Dr Pal was also on the United Nations panel of experts on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and chaired/participated in various UN meetings at Vienna, Geneva and at other international venues. Dr Pal a Distinguished Fellow of TETE, Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering, The National Academy of Sciences, India Fellow IEEE (USA), lET (UK), MIAA (Paris), FVEDA, MASI is associated with several other Professional Societies and Academic Institutions. He has received more than one and a half dozen national and international awards, including, IEEE Third Millennium Medal, Prof S N Mitra Memorial Award (TNAE), IETE Ramlal Wadhwa and Hariramji Toshniwal Gold Medals. Besides these he holds Indian, European & International patents for his various inventions. In the year 2010 IEEE announced its top level awards and him to be the recipient for the prestigious IEEE-20 I 0 Judith A Resnik Award. He is the first Indian national and first Professional to get this prestigious award East of France. Was conferred the coveted “BITS Pilani Distinguished Alumnus Award 2012” in recognition of his significant and outstanding contributions to his profession in the category of “Professional Management of Business.” Dr Pal has published more than 220 papers in international and national journals of repute, one book on Communications, guided number of Ph D students and has been on the editorial board of many technical journals. He is a Distinguished Visiting Professor of lndian National Academy of Engineering & Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE-USA. Under the IEEE scheme, he has delivered invited talks, tutorials and lectures on antennas, satellites, GNSS, and space communications at NTU Singapore and University of Cape-Town, Stellenbosch University, Cape Peninsular Technical University, CSIR, Dept of Science and Technology, Republic of South Africa and Bradford University, UK. Dr Pal is also Senior Adviser on ICT curriculum and other academic matters to newly formed Institute of ICT- Ahmedabad University, Gujarat.

Dr Pal has a long association with TETE in various capacities including as a council member. He is one of the active organizers of IRSI-Bangalore and Initiator of ISM. These two conferences have become very popular globally. His fields of interest are: RF Communications, Space Technology, Microwaves, Electromagnetics, Antennas, Radars, Digital Communication and Satellite Navigation.
